Okay, I’m in the theater waiting for this movie, and I honestly have no idea what to expect. I showed up with no real knowledge of what the movie was about, who was in it, or anything else like that. So I was pleasantly surprised with the strong start this movie had. It showed me that this was going to be an action-packed laugh-out-loud movie I would watch over and over.
The story starts with two big-time cops rampaging through the city in pursuit of a gang of heavily armed criminals. There is plenty of carnage and laughter to satisfy anyone. After this excellent sequence we meet the two main characters. Again, I have really high hopes for this movie. We get the traits of the characters, along with where they stand as far as rank and status, in yet another gut-busting sequence.
Then the movie continues as the cast progress through the plot. However the jokes and action run thin through the middle. Don’t get me wrong, there is some pretty good material, but it’s spaced out by some silly and seemingly pointless scenes that end up detracting from the quality of the rest of the movie.
But soon towards the end of the movie, the characters solve their mystery, and set out to finish the job. The last twenty minutes or so of the movie are thoroughly entertaining and have you leaving the theater on a high note.
So overall, although there is definitely some blah during the middle, this movie has a strong start and finish, and has some really good gags you’ll be dying to share with your friends.
